276 E ELECTRO-PNEUMATIC UNDERPINNER
The advanced technology of the CS 276 E UNDERPINNER enables you to work
with any kind of profile, and considerably improves the quality of the
finished joint, especially with aluminium covered mouldings. There is
no longer any need to retouch gilded or varnished mouldings.
The mechanical strength of the joint is so great that frames can be handled
immediately after joining.
Joining is achieved by the use of patented metal wedges specially designed to ensure perfectly joined mitres. The method of operation ensures that the framer can see and adjust as necessary the face of the mouldings, A horizontal clamp grips the mouldings against the back fences prior to insertion of the wedges ot on exact 90° angle. Quickly interchangeable adaptors are available for joining at other angles eg. octagons or hexognns. Wedges are supplied in 5 different heights (5-7-10-12-15 mm). They are selected according to the height and profile of the moulding. They are supplied in throw-away plastic cartridges containing 275 wedges. Up to 3 wedges can be stacked on top of each other for joining tall mouldings.
Cassese®wedges
can be used in all kinds of wood, however hard. The wedges are so strong
that small frames can be manufactured without the use of glue - giving
a significant saving in time. Production rate 100 - 130 frames an hour
(220 frames an hour when using 1 wedge per corner).
OPERATION
The wedge distributor head can operate at different heights in the course
of a cycle, up to a maximum 20 mm. (1 3/4") vertical difference.
LENGHT OF CYCLE:
Fixing 6 wedges per corner with 5O mm, (2") Horizontal movement –
5 seconds.
Fixing 3 wedges per corner with 50 mm, (2") Horizontal movement -
4 seconds.
SET-UP TIME:
Up to 54 seconds depending on moulding
AUTOMATIC CYCLE:
Controlled by foot pedal (manual operation for setting-up)
ELECTRO-PNEUMATIC
CYCLE:
Electronically controlled by touch keyboard for the following operations.
PROGRAMMING:
Number of wedges to be inserted according to moulding profile can be programmed
up to 6 per corner (3 stacked in each position).
Wedge selection display:
Indicator light: Wedge position.
Indicator light: Auto or Manual
Indicator light: Cartridge Empty
Indicator light: Out of Service
Indicator light: Maintenance
required
SAFETY:
No wedge insertion unless moulding in place.
Inoperable in case of jamming (operator must clear machine before it will
operate ).
Maintenance warning : lubrification required every 50.000 operations.
When cartridge empties in mid-cycle : wedge insertion stops, clamps, remain
in position, wedge insertion recommences after cartrige replaced, controlled
by operator.
PLUGER SPEED:
Can be adjusted, especially for sensitive mouldings.
